Currency and Prices

Hello. I have been a couple weeks into campaign and the current state of commerce is frustrating.

  • Firstly, the prices for items and award amounts are completely random: I bought a beer for three coppers, and on the next roll it cost me a golden coin already. When I say "How about a coin for my job", NPCs pay me with a literal single coin, not bothering to think of fair cost. When asking Franz for approximate price, he struggles most of the time unable to answer.

  • Secondly, there is confusion with denominations. Worlds with defined main currencies, like Septims, Orens or Space Credits do not benefit from having multiple grades - silver and copper coins should be disabled or removed. Maybe add the different currencies instead, to trade with various factions.

A possible solution could be an optional table of abstract goods and services to supplement the custom world. It would not take up any context as Franz will simply look into this database to find most relevant entry and come up with a legit price for something.
For example, an entry might say "Simple Cleaning Job = 5 silver" or "Bottle of Premium Juice = 60 copper". Then game master could assume that mopping around shall earn a dozen silver while a generated cheap fruity drink would cost around 20 copper.
More general info may be added, like “Street Merchant’s Monthly Income - 500 eurodollars“ or “Commoner’s Purse Content - (20;70) ducats” for a dynamic range.
The more examples author can come up with - the more precise Franz could be with making up fair deals and item prices. An option to upload/export xls would be extremely convenient to maintain and exchange such tables.
And since we are on this subject... Custom currency icons? :)
