Franz almost never interacts with the combat system or takes me to pre existing POIs

I’m new here, so maybe I’m just doing this wrong. I spent about 20 hours in my Faladrim starter campaign and Franz never actually bothered to create any story lines that took me out of Trailhome. I started at lvl 1, now I’m lvl 6 and this is still the case. Unless I cheat, look at the map, and specifically asked to go somewhere else he would just keep creating new POIs that all appear inside Trailhome and have me go on the same style of missions over and over and over and over.

This sucks, because the world you guys built looks really interesting and I was hoping that Franz would create a story line with quests that would take me out there to explore it. Instead I just get single location AI generated quickies that have me doing almost the exact same thing every time: Bloom in Whisperwind Pastures, Caravan missing in Sunstone Pass, Blight sighted in Verdwood. I tried to go somewhere else and find other missions, but they just point me right back to the same lot of bs.

All these have to do with blight btw, which seems to always be the enemy regardless of the quest. I’ll take a mission to investigate goblin raids hoping to fight some goblins. No goblins, just blight. Think there’s some fungal growths? Nope it’s blight. Some hints of political intrigue? I get there and a blight monster bursts through the ground for no apparent reason. I was really hoping to interact with the combat system you guys created too, which looks really fun and would turn this into a tactical rpg. But instead it’s all narrative driven blight extermination. I ran out of different ways to say “I use my power to purify the corruption” ages ago. Now i just try to skip ahead as fast as possible with doctored arcane checks. I actually started a new campaign and imported my character and that seems to have helped just a little bit, but often I’ll just get stuck trying to get somewhere and I’ll never actually get there unless I explicitly force the situation (“I kept walking until I found the enemy and then rolled for initiative”)

I’m really disappointed right now, but I’m still holding out hope that I’m just doing this wrong. Any advice on how to stop this game from chasing it’s own tale [pun intended] would be greatly appreciated. I see so much potential here, so it’s all the more frustrating when the game keeps giving me 5% of what it’s supposed to.

Thanks!
