Franz breaking and responding incorrectly

I am hunting a cache of valuable furs, guarded by wolves. They were approaching me and I asked Franz if I were to douse one in oil, (I have 2 flasks of oil) would I have a way to light them up. It then told me I have reached the cache of furs, which I haven’t, and now tells me what to do.
