Franz is giving me information even though I failed the check

I failed an investigation check and then Franz proceeded to tell me about exactly what I had failed to notice. Except by telling me about what I didn't notice, I now know about it; and thus the entire point of the check is over. If a check about giving information is failed, Franz should just outright not tell you anything about the topic instead of this.
