Not updating inventory with ammunition

So this is really starting to piss me off the AI keeps saying it's adding ammunition to my inventory for done my character has but not only does it not do it it doesn't even show up. I had to make the ammunition and add the quantity myself and then it says it's going to count down that ammunition every time something is used but it did nothing in fact it just went to one in the quantity and it won't change unless I do so. I'm supposed to have 87 bullets but I keep saying I only have one now even though I keep telling the AI I don't and changing it back.
