Observations on Narrative Patterns in Friends and Fable

A friend of mine introduced me to Friends and Fable, and at first, I didn’t think much of it. However, once I started playing, I was amazed by the infinite possibilities the game offers. I understand that it’s still in early beta and that many things will change over time.

After playing several times, I began to notice that Franz often takes elements from previous campaigns and reuses them in new ones. As I’ve seen mentioned in this feedback forum, he really does repeat names. But it’s not just that—Franz also tends to reuse the “main” quest from the first campaign you played in other campaigns.

For example, on this account I started with a Dark Fantasy setting, and the main quest was related to the “Blight” and the corruption of Ley Lines. In every other campaign I started, the Blight and the corruption of Ley Lines appeared again.

On another account, I began by battling through Hell until I eventually defeated Asmodeus. Guess what? In other campaigns, Franz followed the same narrative pattern—when I was conquering Hell, NPCs constantly repeated lines like “By the Nine Hells.”

I tested this across 3–4 accounts, both free and paid, and a friend of mine noticed the same thing.

That said, I’m really enjoying F&F and I see a lot of potential here. I hope you continue the great work and fix these issues.
