Im currently playing my very first game of D&D ever here on friends & fables and I have been loving it. The only frustrating thing I’ve really had in the beginning is that the DM will sometimes forget things that have happened. Its gotten easier by remembering to make a note to the dm to help with establishing saved context to the story. As long as I have remebered to do that there has been less having to remind the DM about things.
I’m playing in a merchant kind of way so when I asked the DM how my play style was compared to other peoples he said that my play style is a parallel world building style with the DM. I’ve been having to make sure to write down things such as my trading companies fleet and number of guards and general staff I employ or how many guild members I have and their recourses on paper to remind the DM to keep the world building more consistent. As well as been having the Dm create points of interestes where I created my trading companies or other things and editing them as I need to.
Would there be a way to make a upgraded account feature for other people with parallel world build play styles can have a separate tooltoolbar that helps the player as well as the DM keep track of things like logistics of shared inventories for trading companied and guilds as well as fleet inventories, stable inventories, locations of the areas owned by the player, a treasury toolbar for keeping track of things you invest into, operation costs as well as monthly profits, etc.
Friend & Fables has a great AI DM and that DM needs the tools to be able to help it and the players have the best experience they can. I have been enjoying everything even with the minor headaches, it would be nice though to not have to write everything down constantly. A guild toolbar, a merchant toolbar, and other toolbars that independently save memory to help the DM with updating the story with accuracy so The DM doesnt have to dedicate memory to those things and can focus on the story using the information in the toolbars as reference when it is needed for the story.
By adding this in-game management feature as an upgrade for those specific players that care about would building and parallel world building playstyles with the Dm in-game you would potentially reach out to even more people and stand out among other AI D&D DM competitors.
